In addition, horses have not been intensively bred for very long - most stud books are less than 100 years old. The breeds of horse fit into three main groups - ponies, light horses, and heavy horses - and in addition there are types, which can be any breed but are particularly suitable for a defined purpose. I think that Morris did an excellent job with this book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone loking for more information on horses.. It's also amazing how many small
details he plants during the course of the book that become
important & tie things up as the book progresses.

1. I bought a case of books to use as my break-out holiday hostess or thank you gift. A ball and bat together cost $1.10. Unfortunately, everything you needed to know can be found in the original version for less $$. The fishing lore and natural history are hopelessly out of date but who cares? Has been in print for centuries and deservedly so.. It's
extremely well written, a very important topic, tells a great story &
