Indeed, if our fishing is successful, we might exchange our catch for the song of a pretty milkmaid. As I recall, it is about 8 chapters, or essays including a final one of 1 page. And it works well. He introduces a recurrent example. I especially liked that the primary mystery did not simply focus on who committed a murder, but dealt with whether Alice was hallucinating or being contacted by an angel. Chance may not account for that.
Another concern is that much of the work is done in artificial settings (read college students). I'm not so convinced of this. Finally, when people gained control over fossil fuels, the amount of energy each member of society could command surged again. Great idea, great illustrations, but overly complicated instructions and pages too busy. It reads like a novel. At first, I was unsure whether to purchase this book because I was looking for a boo
