Introduction to Cisco Router Configuration (CCIE/CCNP/CCDS courseware series)

Introduction to Cisco Router Configuration presents the foundation knowledge necessary to define Cisco router configurations in multi-protocol environments. You'll examine a broad range of technical information on routing models, processes, and design. Beginning with internetworking fundamentals, you'll work through the internetworking model, defining the OSI layers and path determination, then move on to basic router operation and configuration. You'll delve into the configuration details for IP routing, Novell IPX, and AppleTalk, and then examine IP addressing and traffic management with access lists. Finally, you'll explore WAN communications, including serial connections, X.25, and Frame Relay.

EDITORIAL :

Formed in the classic textbook mold, Introduction to Cisco Router Configuration is designed as a supplement to the eponymous Cisco certification and training course. This is made abundantly clear in the end-of-chapter tests, the "Key Concepts" that dot the pages, and the bounty of diagrams, charts, and tables. But regardless of whether you plan to enroll in the class, this volume should be part of your networking library. The book's three sections deal handsomely with internetworking basics, networking protocol suites, and wide-area networking. Internetworking (which editor Laura Chappell defines as that which ties LANs, WANs, software, and extraneous devices together) is effectively put in historical perspective in the first chapters. In addition, LANs, WANS, and the OSI model are all clearly defined both individually and in relationship to each other. The remaining chapters of

(as much as anyone could) The truth is we don't know what we will be doing exactly from day to day, and this book shows that.

I love this book as a Ranger, but this book isn't written just for Rangers! It reads like an adventure that most would enjoy. A timeless classic.. In trying to lay an espionage as to whether the continuation to part I of these stories and series was worth the try, my involvement consumed me – again! A good execution to delivering what the readers need. I would put this bio in th
